When A. L. Fox was a teenager he decided that high school was not his thing. However rather then simply drop out he showed initiative, went to the local college, and gained his GED, so that he could pursue a career in the work force a full year before the rest of his class graduated.

After two years working at a chicken factory handling raw birds and guts, Fox  decided to join the army, and spent several years in the United States Army working as a field artilleryman. That was one of the more exciting times of his life and he often misses waking up to a fire mission. He spent a large amount of time in the military practicing his writing when the opportunity presented itself, since he found he had a very creative imagination and the military lifestyle gave him the drive and impetus to complete something once he put his mind to it.  That is what army disciplines nurtured in the Author and which is now reflected in his writing creativity.

When Fox was honorably discharged he moved in with his Mom and Dad and set about beginning a career in writing, so that he could put his imagination to work. He soon found that the world he had created was much more alive and full of stories and exciting adventures, then he could ever have imagined he’d be capable of once his creative juices started to flow freely. He spent a large amount of time on his work to perfect it before his decision to find the work presentable enough for possible publication and present a Publisher with a story that deserved the telling.  Once he had progressed and honed his craft the words simply began to flow and the story rapidly took shape.  Such is how DRAGON TEARS Book I of the Legends of Galacia Series turned out – a worthy story for publication and which is also finding much popularity by readership.

Nowadays Fox finds it hard to resist evermore being driven to write for his new fans and growing readership, and has also written the second novel titled DRAGON BLOOD
Book II, of the Legends of Galacia Series shortly to go to print with CleanReads, his Publisher. Thank you for believing in the Author’s potential, dear Stephanie. 🙂

History Is Made By A Highland Born Author

Kristal McKerrington has made history by getting two wrestlers to appear in her sports romance (wrestling romance).

Kristal was born in Shetland where she was inspired from a young age and to be blessed with a great imagination, and becoming a prolific author.

She started writing from the age of eight years old and didn’t get published until she was 20.  She maintains that her writing adventures weren’t kicked off until she met the wonderful Debi Gliori.

Since then she has had the honour and pleasure of knowing the wonderful authors and wrestlers that she is delighted to call friends today.

Kristal still very much lives in Scotland, just outside of Glasgow where she continues to write, and is helping her Publisher Solstice Publishing, based in Farmington, Missouri, USA,  to launch its Faith brand of books.

Breaking new ground in the literary sectors is something that Kristal loves to occupy and challenge herself with, and is what she lives for and keeps her going, as unfortunately Kristal suffers from Arthritis and other related and energy sapping illnesses, but her writing keeps her focussed and fully occupied, and allows her much enjoyment and personal fulfillment.  Kristal was blessed with an abundance of creativity, so writing her books is her outlet.

She co-authors with the European wrestling superstar Joe E Legend, who is famous from WWE/TNA, where he spent several years.

He started to publish books in the last 3 years, and Joe loves and is fond of superheroes, and always has time to sit and chat about wrestling, and his books.

He lives in Germany but spends most of his time in London, where he is a teacher for the Al Snow wrestling school.  Joe is a well known International celebrity and his wrestling takes him all over the world, and is close to doing his 100th visit to the United Kingdom.

Kristal’s characters in the novel are Scottish.

ABOUT THE BOOK –  Marie’s World – “The Aftermath” 

The Aftermath is the second in the series called Marie’s World which will branch out in Susan Family Series that will include books that take place in Scotland.

At the end of the book one Marie has been forced to return to Chicago to make her twin sisters tell all book about her, family and friends into a movie.  She is also forced to return to the side of her estranged husband despite the old flames that appeared in her life.

The Aftermath follows the journey of Marie through a cruel world and not knowing where she belongs, and whether it’s in sports entertainment or dance.

She has slowly lost touch with her allies and she finds it hard to know who is her enemy or her friend.  There are many unexpected twists and turns that brings her back to Glasgow, where she confronts those who have caused her the most misery.

The Aftermath made history when it’s book cover was launched depicting two well known sports entertainers on the cover, both of whom have worked with some of the biggest wrestling companies known to the sports industry.

One of them has the support of WWE and he’s the male in the cover, and he is called Rhyno, and the curvaceous female is former TNA/WWE superstar Katarina or otherwise simply known as Winter.

The Aftermath is going to be released worldwide on Amazon.com.

Joyce Marks was born in 1942 in London, UK.   The Author emigrated to New Zealand in 1989.\

Her impressive educational background:  She obtained a degree in Philosophy and Psychology at the University of Bristol in the UK.  She  then obtained a Postgraduate Certificate in Education at the University of London, after which Joyce trained as an educational psychologist at the Tavistock Clinic in London.

She has two poems published in anthologies.

Another novel Joyce has written titled “The Man Who Wore Brothel Keepers”.  We are hoping to get this work published also.

Joyce has written a children’s story; “The Boy and the Bird King”,  also soon to be published.

The family is Jewish and emigrated from Russia and Latvia. Several settled in the UK.  The author’s  parents and grandparents lived in London and Scotland. The author has a younger sister, Marian. They have music lessons; one of their teachers is the father-in-law of Vladimir Ashkenazy.   Joyce has one daughter (Musician and Composer), and a son (a Lawyer) residing in New Zealand.

Several holidays are described and dramatic incidents which occurred on some of the holidays.  This Collection of Short Stories make for fascinating reading, and is especially poignant since these stories were based on factual events.

Our handsome looking, prolific author Gilbert Jackman, is a formidable and diversely talented professional, who has s acquired an eclectic variety of skills and experience over the years, serving in the Royal Marines (SNCO), NZ SAS (SNCO), NZ Police (D/SGT), and as Chief Security and Training Officer on cruise ships (3 Rings).  Gilbert has written more than  30 books, and three Children’s stories, and having more planned on his extensive agenda.  We are proud to have him on board.

A Non-smoker, and in pursuit of maintaining a healthful active lifestyle, our Author lives in the UK, and can travel anywhere at short notice and have spent a lifetime being away from home on duty.

He was relocated to the UK from France in 2011.

Thomas Craven is a snappy dresser, art school graduate and antique dealer. He is also a faker and forger, a coward, and an all round detestable person. The mysterious Mr. Deville contacts their firm and an agreement is made, so Craven and company begin collecting artifacts for the new customer.
The attractive Amanda Hastings and her father are on the trail of Deville, their journey taking them through time and space. Now she is forced to obtain the help of someone she detests, Thomas Craven. Together they follow events to their conclusions, and the terrible purpose Deville plans for two civilizations.
Somehow, Craven turns out to be the unlikely hero in the end.

Gil Jackman was born in Liverpool, England, became Architectural Draughtsman, then joined the Royal Marine Commandos and saw action in Cyprus, Aden and Northern Ireland. Wounded twice, Jackman left the Royal Marines as a SNCO and went to New Zealand, where he joined the NZ SAS and became a SNCO. After Vietnam Gil joined the NZ Police, serving as a Det/Sgt. He then returned to the UK and opened a gym – teaching bodybuilding, karate and general fitness. Later, he found a position on cruise ships as Chief of Security, serving for sixteen years. Besides the UK, Jackman has lived in NZ, France and South Africa.

After touring the Southern states twice coupled with nine years of research and editing, Canadian author Stephen A. Carter has recently published the first of a series of four historical-fiction action/adventure novels. Book One entitled VORTEX is set in the turbulent period before the U.S. Civil War. It is the first of four contiguous novels set between 1854 and 1884. Although there are many themes, the primary emphasis deals with African-Americans and their involvement in the Civil War before, during and after the ‘great schism’.
He has also published a high school primer of 100 short poems, pictures and 200 word intros on Americana entitled AMERICANS R US. Unpublished works include two books of poetry and four stage plays. In 1985 he illustrated the world’ best selling fly-fishing book entitled ‘THE GILLY’. He began his writing career by writing travel articles for a local magazine. His website is OBAAT.CA

The son of British-Welsh immigrants, the author was born in 1946 in Vancouver, BC. Thereafter he graduated from the University of BC in 1968 with minors in English and Psychology and majors in History and Geography. For twenty-one years he taught high school social studies before touring Canada as a pen & ink artist. A stage 4 cancer survivor, he currently lives in Port Coquitlam, a Vancouver suburb. Our deeds shall forever remain a blemish which can never be erased from the pages of our historical archives, nor from our ugly past where social conscience matters pertaining to human decency are concerned, and the cold hard facts and revelations of our recorded historical data set against the tapestry of our tempestuous American history, but also that of every nation on earth, where ‘Slavery’ and slave trading was employed and exploited so precariously.  Not only as a profitable commodity of commerce and trade, but how it was utilized as an evil form of decadence and self indulgence by despotic owners of  indigenous African peoples, sold to them as slaves. In this instance of exchange, both the buyers and the sellers stood equally guilty, but nevertheless despite the distant events of our past, have passed that legacy on to those descendants still living today, that will have to live with their questionable family histories.

The only reparation acceptable can primarily solely be achieved by changing our social and racial attitudes which continues to linger  and hover like a dark menacing shadow over Nations, and conduct a thorough searching of our hearts, and our consciences.  We are keen to represent these works to the film sectors, and are of the opinion that there can’t ever be sufficient reminders of the extraordinary debauched abuse, torture and unacceptable degradation that was perpetrated against sacristy itself; and that of every individual’s basic human civil rights – but more importantly, our God-given right to ‘free will’.

Overview: 

“Vortex” Book I,  contains the basic premise (in that it deals with the struggle of black Americans trying to gain their civil rights denied them by slavery in the South and the Fugitive Act of 1850 in the North.)
Boston, long before the Civil War began, was the nexus of a social/political struggle against slavery in the USA. For example, ‘Uncle Tom’s Cabin’ by Harriet Beecher Stowe was published there in 1852. After the famous ‘Tea Party’ of 1773 and the Irish immigrations of 1849, it is not surprising that Bostonians of all social stripes were considered anti-establishment. However because of the fractions, an insidious social divide between black and whites living there became apparent.

Shortly before the Civil War, Boston’s black population became socially estranged from the city’s white mainstream. This divide becomes quite evident when the book’s white hero marries a black undertakers daughter, the beautiful Virginia Rowland. Their consequent struggle mirrors the social and racist hypocrisy of pre-civil war Boston not only in the white community but in the black (as portrayed by Rev. Benson and his white counterpart Minister Norland.)
Therefore, in Book one, ‘VORTEX, the conflict over the issue of basic human tights evolves from the visceral (the throwing of slaves overboard) through the subtleties of social hypocrisy. Eventually civil war erupts between two ideologies so diametrically opposed they are willing to die to preserve them.
Carried along on a tidal wave of hate and destruction are the sub-characters…Alan Pinkerton, Lincoln, Marcus, Belle and Virginia. Much like the desperate slaves aboard the slave ship, the Wanderer, they careen helplessly towards the abyss of civil war. Yet, behind the scenes as chaos explodes around them, these characters plot and counter-plot, their actions leading up to an unforgettable conclusion.

Two main characters form the moral pillars of two diametrically opposed societies, namely John Saxton (an enlightened heir to a shipping fortune) and Marcus Brown (Matari), a former slave/sailor and Maasai warrior (Moran) who amongst other black epitomizes the black dilemma in America.
White trying to retain his Maasai moral compass, Marcus is forced to obey the rules of a socially bigoted white majority in order to survive. This ethical miasma results in a conflict not only between him and those he loves but also between the forces of evil as portrayed by the villainous Horatio Garrow and his hapless confederate Harley Blackstone. Because Saxton and Marcus’s morals remain unsullied, their purity of character only serves to make the antagonists appear more evil and depraved.

A Great and Exciting Trilogy, Destined for the Film Sectors Titled “The Charles Langham Series”.

What can I say about our Author, other than what a privilege it was for us to work with him.  Ever patient, considerate and always optimistic in the challenges we set before him, he never uttered one complaint or that anything was too fiddly or too much to bother with.  Gary and his lovely wife deserve the best in life that is on offer, and hopefully we can be instrumental in seeing Gary’s  books to films.  The subject matter on which the books in the Charles Langham series and stories are based embraces the concerns we are all much familiar with these days, and well handled by the author and his appealing style of writing makes for thrilling and exciting well moving stories which promises to provoke every discerning reader.   The topics the Author tries to bring to discerning readership are so much on our world agenda these days, and the urgent times in which we must live  on this delicate and diverse planet of ours.

Born in London, England to a New Zealand father and English mother, Gary thoroughly enjoyed weekends away on his father’s boat on the river Thames and South of France.  He moved out of London, preferring the peace and quiet and openness of the countryside.  Owning a border collie called Abigail ensured many long family walks no matter what the fickle English weather decided to do. Finding Elderflower trees started a love of winemaking and plums and Blackberries resulted in homemade jams.  A move north to Cumbria and the Lake District saw the family exploring the hills, lakes and coastal walks.  A move back south to Cheshire saw the west coast being explored.  A holiday to see the land where his father was born resulted in a move to New Zealand where favourite pastimes include wine making, gardening, propagating shrubs, growing vegetables and looking after two mischievous Dutch house rabbits.

Before becoming a full time author, Gary spent his professional career in supply chain management rising through the ranks of major international electronics companies. The profession saw him travelling extensively throughout Europe, Mexico, America and the Far East where he still has many good friend. Taking a U.K based roll gave him the time to see his children grow up and finally enjoy travelling for pleasure. 

With the devastating diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis, Gary took to writing as a way of keeping his mind active. All the books are based on an environmental and conservation theme, a subject close to his heart. The research required for each book broadens the mind and the books take on a life of their own. Writing and Multiple Sclerosis are a good match. When cognitive fatigue sets in, with writing, you can stop and rest but allow your imagination to carry on.  

Presently, Gary is working on the screenplay adaptation of the first book in The Charles Langham Series – The Pacific Affair and planning the third book in the series – The Caribbean Affair.

Gary is married with 3 children and a grandson. Two moved to New Zealand and one remains in England.

Excerpt Only: SYNOPSIS

The Prime Minister holding sessions with senior ministers at his Chequers country residence, is advised of the explosion. He activates the Cobra room to commence the Disaster Emergency Response plan as more senior ministers and aides arrive.

On route from San Francisco to their Kermadec headquarters on board Sundancer flanked by their two submarines Mercury and Jupiter The Langham family and  Duke Warren ex-Senator and Presidential aide and Max, Charles’ right hand man enjoy the leisurely cruise. Marge on one of the Submarines calls to come aboard urgently and their surveillance head, Grant interrupts their barbeque with the BBC World New coverage of the London blast. Marge advises of radioactive water traces in the Atlantic. They divert to Hawaii to search the offices of Gustav Axmann’s alleged staff.

Gustav Axmann sits in the musty cabin of the freighter surrounded by SS and Nazi memorabilia drinking schnapps and taking painkillers, eagerly waiting for news on London whilst their journey to Matagorda Bay. On arrival at night they transfer their cargo and personnel to the isolated cottage and workshop Gustav had hired along with an eight metre boat moored at the private quay.

Max and Grant gain entry into the office known to be used by Axmann’s people and download data from two computers. The submarines head for the Atlantic to trace the origins of the radioactive water. With everyone back on Sundancer they head for the Kermadec Islands. Ryan, Duke, Max and Grant investigate the data they downloaded.

The Prime Minister holds court and hears updates from his Home Secretary on the projected number of dead, dying and injured. The Secretary of Defence updates on the estimated size of the weapon and deployment of troops and triage centres. A state of martial law in implemented and all ports and the Channel Tunnel closed. The Prime Minister calls President Johnson for help…

Information and education is and should  become an imperative core part in making more transparent the reality of the situation into the minds of all humans, young and old.  Also the indiscriminate contribution by our global partners in trade particularly in areas  of industry related mass production of supply and demand to keep the banking systems flourish and the stock markets popping, we may need to curb the manufacturing of goods and products to alleviate the seemingly never ending accumulation of pollutants that our spilled into the atmosphere, severely threatening the survival of the species and undermining the health of our societies in many countries.  Our concerns must now be taken more urgently in hand and we may need to ask ourselves, how much is enough?  Where is the balance?  How can we all contribute in curing the ails of our global systems by producing products in a more controlled and sensible                                 way ?

In New Zealand it may indicate that we need to look at our dairy farming filtering systems and the recycling of cow dung and turn it into a viable and useful product, rather than blow it into dung pits, wasting gallons of water in the process.  So the recycling of cattle excrement and water is a sensible solution to what would otherwise become pollutant waste.
Also the continued research on how to minimize and cut down on green house gases produced by cows is one way of contributing to solving the woes of our globe.  Every country must do their collective share towards this effort.   Never before have we operated on such a grand scale dairying farms, factory style, with mass production in focus and aim then today.

When well managed, all waste can be turned into nutrient rich fertilyzer. We’re trying, but still it seems its not quite enough to stop our green house gases contributions from increasing rather than diminishing. They’re working on it.

We need to pull together as a united race of humans of all diverse cultural backgrounds. Rather than make senseless war, killing each other off, and continue raping the earth from its natural resources driven by an overabundance of greed.  Excessive greed, which is the motivating catalyst that stands behind this senseless excessive plundering of the earth’s resourses and natural riches.  For once these manifold mineral supplies in the earth’s crust and medicinal riches found in the flora of our unique rainforests, to name but a few,  have been harvested, utilized, exhausted, but are not systematically being replenished, renewed and maintained in a balanced approach for the prolongation of, and to the benefit of future generations. There is no hope for this blue sphere that hangs so delicately suspended in the cosmos of our vast infinite Universe, if we do not take this quest towards our global survival,seriously.

EXCERPT AND A TASTE OF WHAT’S TO COME:  “NARROWBOAT NATALIE” Book II

The nightmare possibility or chance of war suddenly became a reality! Mr. Hitler’s army invaded Poland on the 1st of September 1939. Keeping their promise to the Polish people, Britain and France had no choice but to declare war against Germany. There were all kinds of confusion in London as Great Britain hastily prepared to go to war. There were soldiers everywhere, plus sailors and airmen.  It seemed that every 2 out of 3 men were in uniform, and that wasn’t counting the women who had volunteered or come forward to serve their country.

Day after day we saw young men marching bravely past, as Great Britain gathered an army to go to France. Most of them looked very young, and it was easy to see that they were doing their best to try and look as if they weren’t scared. If there was one thing that gave Dad comfort, it was the corporals and sergeants that shouted at those boys to keep in a straight line.  “Those sergeants and corporals served in the Great War, Evee, so they will have a very good idea of what war can be like. With men like them to take care of the lads,  Barbed Wire, there’s a good chance that most of them will come back.”

I was back in my home on Great Portland street, and there were vast changes being made to our capital city. Barbed wire barricades or fences were being erected outside certain buildings, and there were walls of sandbags protecting the entrances of London’s underground railway stations. It was very important to keep the entrances open to the underground, as it might be needed for
air raid shelters.

Then, of course, there were people whose homes were too far away from the underground, so they had to dig air raid shelters in their backyards.

Overhead the sky was dotted with barrage balloons. There was even one floating above Tower Bridge.

There was no panic as everyone went about making themselves safe; however by the looks on everyone’s faces you could tell that they were very nervous about what the approaching or coming months would have in store for them. The platforms of every city station were crowded with soldiers being sent across the English Channel, plus children who were being evacuated or sent out into the countryside just in case Mr. Hitler’s air force arrived and bombed their homes! Everyone, even the smallest child, had been issued with a gas mask which we carried in little square boxes on straps hung from our shoulders. Poisonous gas had been used by the enemy during the Great War, and there was every chance they would use it again! Not just against our soldiers in the front line, but also against women and children in the streets of London as well!

In the Spanish Civil War that had just ended a few months before, the Luftwaffe or Mr.  Gas masks for all Hitler’s air force left no one with any doubt that they did not care if they bombed civilians or women and children. While Dad looked very handsome and dashing in his Royal Air Force squadron leader’s uniform, he was no longer the happy and care free man I once knew. Mum and I were seeing much less of him, and, on the rare occasion or time that he managed to spend with us, his face was mostly clouded with uncertainty or doubt. The reason for that was horribly simple. The war was going badly for Poland, and there seemed that so little could be done to help the poor Polish people.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

J. C. Belgard has have been writing for as long as he can recall. Even before he ever had the idea to put any of his ideas on paper he’s been regaling stories. It’s what he does he told us.   We sense it is the Author’s natural compulsion and comes driven from the creative spirit within, he was born with.

Joel has a love for telling stories and the craft of writing them down, and he has yet so very many to tell. His particular passion has always been for Fantasy / Sci-Fi though; and loves the freehand in being able to bend the reality somewhat.

Only since recently he came to the rather sudden realization that the rest of the world might also like to read them. Since then, he’s been very prolific in the distribution of  samples of his work.  He now claims a small but growing and fiercely loyal following of his works that he distributes though e-mail.

He did have a live blog at one time, where he would feed a couple of pages a time for his faithful fan base following,  but is currently focusing and expending all of his efforts on publication, and which he has now achieved with the “ERAS’ STORY”.  Nothing will stop him from succeeding he avowed us and his words were fulfilled.  It seems that J. Eras shook her head again. “When will you listen to me!? I don’t need saving!”

Roth gently pulled her away from him and held her shoulders at arm’s length. “I wish I could believe that but I’ve seen things now that I’ll never be able to forget. Visions of creatures the world was right to forget about. Please just trust me. I need some time.” Hot tears began to roll down Eras’ face as she shook her head again.

“What do you mean? You’re not leaving are you?!” Thunder rumbled in the distant darkening sky and the first drops of rain began to fall.

“I don’t know yet. But please give me some time to think.” Eras’ tears began to fall in large heavy drops and the rain followed her example. Long minutes passed with only the sound of the rain to drown away the silence. Roth let go of her shoulders and stared out over the city. Eras could control herself no longer and ran down the stairs, her tears copiously falling without restraint.
