ABOUT THE BOOK – “Duty, Honor, Country: Kill, Capture, or do Nothing”
“Duty, Honor, Country: Those three hallowed words reverently dictate what you ought to be, what you can be, what you will be. They are your rallying points: to build courage when courage seems to fail; to regain faith when there seems to be little cause for faith; to create hope when hope becomes forlorn.” General of the Army, Douglas MacArthur
The book “Duty, Honor, Country: Kill, Capture or do Nothing,” is the account of the most secret Special Operations unit in the United States Military. This is the story of real men who put their lives on the line every day in defense of the United States. The unit, never makes the 6 o’clock news or the newspapers, they operate and their missions are highly classified, every day they carry out missions in complete secrecy. They are only whispered about at the highest levels of the intelligence community in the United States and are never acknowledged publicly. They were once known as the Intelligence Support Activity and have gone by many names over the course of the last thirty years. Currently this unit is designated the Army Operations Activity.
Commentary:
Ed Schroeder is an author of quality material. He writes about what he knows, and still remains the basis upon which all great works are created. To write about what the author knows/researched delivers authenticity and realism to any work, and this book is a ‘must’ read, suitable for general and discerning reading audiences. It is for readers who appreciate military/historical genres which provides suspense, realism and which may even serve as an eyeopener about those serving men, who lay their lives on the line every day in the course of serving their country dutifully, ensuring that our home shores continue to remain a safe haven from off-shore terrorist threat so prevalent in this our 21st Century.
