Paul W Feenstra 2016

Paul W. Feenstra is most talented historical fiction novelist. He has authored three novels, The Breath of God, For Want of a Shilling, and Boundary. His fourth novel, Tied to Mae is is due to become published shortly.

Paul’s Meticulous research, and settings used in beautiful and mysterious New Zealand, lend the novels with an ideal tapestry against which his stories unfold. The books frequently detail early colonial life, and the impact colonialism had on native Maori. Says Feenstra, “History is about the untold story, and writing historical fiction is a wonderful way to present the past in a compelling and entertaining way.”

Born in Wellington, New Zealand, in 1959, to Dutch immigrants, Paul still commutes frequently to Los Angeles, California, where he worked as a multiple ‘Emmy’ nominated entertainment industry professional. For over 25 years he called the USA home and was fortunate to travel extensively throughout the country. His two grown children still reside in Los Angeles.

Sought after as a public speaker by various learning institutions, professional member networks, and countless organisations, Paul has toured the length of New Zealand lecturing about his unique experiences in the Hollywood film and television industry. Recognised for his contribution in helping his country, Paul was honoured by the New Zealand government and invited to join the prestigious, ‘World Class New Zealand,’ network.

In his spare time he enjoys photography and wresting bears.

July 1839, without the knowledge of the English Government, the ship Tory, stealthily departed Plymouth, determined to reach New Zealand with the utmost speed. The objective, to purchase millions of acres of lands at the lowest possible price and then build the perfect society. The New Zealand Company called the first settlement Britannia, a civilization without the shortcomings and failings of a troubled English culture.

On board the Tory, a young Scottish couple indentured to the New Zealand Company are excited at the prospect of beginning a new life, Britannia is the Utopia they’ve been promised.

This is the story of adversity, the struggle to survive in the hardships of a new colony, and their fight to preserve morality and integrity in the face of greed, deception and injustice. For Andrew and Eleanor Stewart they must first battle the environment – they now live in fear for their lives.

On arriving in New Zealand, colonists and settlers discover it isn’t as advertised, and far from the paradise they were promised. The New Zealand Company show no restraint as surveyors measure, plot and divide, while disregarding mounting claims of illegally purchased lands and fraudulently obtained deeds.

Underestimating the Maori people, the Company test their patience, how much more can Maori withstand before they finally take action and rebel?
Befriended and aided by formidable Maori chiefs, the Stewart’s question
their own beliefs and values as they discover what lengths powerful men will go to satisfy their greed and lust for land. Caught between the loyalty to their employer, and helping Maori, Andrew and Eleanor encounter schemers and murderers, as they challenge the powerful New Zealand Company and the men who govern.

Using violence, and intimidation, one man can destroy it all, and threatens to topple everything – who will survive?

Accurately researched, this is a story of honour and integrity, and highlights
an often-misunderstood dark passage in New Zealand’s early colonial history.

Other Works completed and soon to be published are:-

“For Want of a Schilling”

“The Breath of God”

“Tied to Mae”

A wonderful Children’s Illustrated Series titled “The Adventures of Morley and Jack Rabbit” presented in endearing rhyming prose.

The Illustrations too (by Erika Husselmann), present a feast to the eyes and which children will well relate to.

Paul is a very talented author, whose potential to be diverse shown already in the genres he has thus far tackled, and which will entertain us with many hours of fine reading.   We shall be eagerly looking out for more unique and quirky story concepts as time goes by.  We are of the opinion that Paul’s books will fulfill all the film sectors’ criterion for riveting viewing and box office appeal, to the measure enjoyed by the afamed Hollywood award winning film “The Piano”, and I believe it is in the tradition of that film likewise set in historical New Zealand that Paul books “Boundary” and “For Want of a Schilling” in particular, will exude that same visual appeal  and success of their afamed forerunner.

Author Biography – and Curriculum Vita Information

(A. L. Fox)

When A. L. Fox was a teenager he decided that high school was not his thing. However rather then simply drop out he showed initiative, went to the local college, and gained his GED, so that he could pursue a career in the work force a full year before the rest of his class graduated.

After two years working at a chicken factory handling raw birds and guts, Fox  decided to join the army, and spent several years in the United States Army working as a field artilleryman. That was one of the more exciting times of his life and he often misses waking up to a fire mission. He spent a large amount of time in the military practicing his writing when the opportunity presented itself, since he found he had a very creative imagination and the military lifestyle gave him the drive and impetus to complete something once he put his mind to it.  That is what army disciplines nurtured in the Author and which is now reflected in his writing creativity.

When Fox was honorably discharged he moved in with his Mom and Dad and set about beginning a career in writing, so that he could put his imagination to work. He soon found that the world he had created was much more alive and full of stories and exciting adventures, then he could ever have imagined he’d be capable of once his creative juices started to flow freely. He spent a large amount of time on his work to perfect it before his decision to find the work presentable enough for possible publication and present a Publisher with a story that deserved the telling.  Once he had progressed and honed his craft the words simply began to flow and the story rapidly took shape.  Such is how DRAGON TEARS Book I of the Legends of Galacia Series turned out – a worthy story for publication and which is also finding much popularity by readership.

Nowadays Fox finds it hard to resist evermore being driven to write for his new fans and growing readership, and has also written the second novel titled DRAGON BLOOD
Book II, of the Legends of Galacia Series shortly to go to print with CleanReads, his Publisher. Thank you for believing in the Author’s potential, dear Stephanie. 🙂

A third Book is in the making and we have full confidence and look eagerly forward, to seeing this exciting fantasy series as ideal material for film representation.

Our Client, and Author David Stuart Robinson

Category:  Literary and Film representation

David Robinson Photo

David was fortunate enough to receive a first class education, attending Manchester Grammar School and graduating with honours from Cambridge University.

The Author had a number of interesting careers.  The first position he held was when working  in the overseas department of an insurance company in London. Later he retrained for an illustrious career in IT, and has been involved in conservation work .  He has also taught abroad, among which was a teaching post in France, and fell promptly in love with the country and its people.

David is a prolific Author, and one of his books has now been published and it available from in both its Paper back and Kindle versions.

Curriculum Vita Information

Nowadays the Author devotes himself to two equally rewarding and equally wonderful activities —

  • private tuition of foreign languages and English
  • fiction writing

David is a frequent traveller, loves music, loves the outdoors, and is a very active individual.

He recently moved out of the UK, and is still not sure which country he’ll end up living in, or shall finally settle down in.   He feels that, like some of his colorful and complex characters, he continues to search for greater freedom.

Now, for the first time in his life, David feels as if his chosen twin occupations have moved up to become a part of his true identity. In his previous careers he never felt that connection and emotional stimuli. Now he is happy to introduce himself as a teacher, and writer.

He considers himself, in the main, a serious writer, and doesn’t generally write contemporary popular fiction. The writers to whom he normally looks up to are the likes of  –  D H Lawrence, Laurie Lee, Milan Kundera. So it is quite obvious that David is another one of our most talented writers, and one of depth and substance.

He aims to write each novel he creates into an entirely different genre/category, a testament to his colorful and restless character and personality. Definitely boredom will never get the better of David as his flow of creativity drives him onward.  Several other works are already written, in part or in full.  He aims to explore human psychology and the opportunities that afford him to delve into those areas of human nature are available to him through his many encounters with people of all backgrounds, creeds, and cultures.  His research for his books is thorough and writes about what he knows, or has experienced over time in his life and mingling with individuals of varied social backgrounds.  He often places his principal characters in a dilemma. This gives him cart blanche to  chart their mental and emotional journey, wherever this may take his readership.

It’s important to the Author to see his works published as this gives him the emotional reward and satisfaction that he has aimed and achieved all he has set out to do; to win over that very important readership audience and fan base following, and to be able to share his enriched imagination with his fans.   A way to offer the best of himself in order to entertain to the best of his ability.  That is what drives David on and continues to present challenging ideas and new plot lines, that will have the capacity to capture and enthrall his audiences with impressive and great literary adventures.

We aim to see some of David’s fine projects represented to the film sectors.

Since then she has had the honour and pleasure of knowing the wonderful authors and wrestlers that she is delighted to call friends today.

Kristal still very much lives in Scotland, just outside of Glasgow where she continues to write, and is helping her Publisher Solstice Publishing, based in Farmington, Missouri, USA,  to launch its Faith brand of books.

Breaking new ground in the literary sectors is something that Kristal loves to occupy and challenge herself with, and is what she lives for and keeps her going, as unfortunately Kristal suffers from Arthritis and other related and energy sapping illnesses, but her writing keeps her focussed and fully occupied, and allows her much enjoyment and personal fulfillment.  Kristal was blessed with an abundance of creativity, so writing her books is her outlet.

She co-authors with the European wrestling superstar Joe E Legend, who is famous from WWE/TNA, where he spent several years.

Vortex I Steve Carter book cover

“VORTEX”,  Book 1 is the first edition of an explosive series of 4 Books planned by the Author, soon coming to your book store and we’re aiming to see all these works in film. We here, are all eagerly looking forward to having a read of the Author’ journeys covered in his books, about to reveal their highly significant contents as the Author revisits our significant past, and heart-rending  history of  the  appalling mistreatment of a gracious peoples ever to roam God’s earth.

The novels will provide a keen eye-opener and window into the events that will touch the hearts of many.  It may serve also as a catalyst in awakening the more unsavory and unpleasant memories of those whose grandparents, and great grandparents experienced the atrocities dealt them, and being denied their right to freedom.

Our deeds shall forever remain a blemish which can never be erased from the pages of our historical archives, nor from our ugly past where social conscience matters pertaining to human decency are concerned, and the cold hard facts and revelations of our recorded historical data set against the tapestry of our tempestuous American history, but also that of every nation on earth, where ‘Slavery’ and slave trading was employed and exploited so precariously.  Not only as a profitable commodity of commerce and trade, but how it was utilized as an evil form of decadence and self indulgence by despotic owners of  indigenous African peoples, sold to them as slaves. In this instance of exchange, both the buyers and the sellers stood equally guilty, but nevertheless despite the distant events of our past, have passed that legacy on to those descendants still living today, that will have to live with their questionable family histories.

The only reparation acceptable can primarily solely be achieved by changing our social and racial attitudes which continues to linger  and hover like a dark menacing shadow over Nations, and conduct a thorough searching of our hearts, and our consciences.  We are keen to represent these works to the film sectors, and are of the opinion that there can’t ever be sufficient reminders of the extraordinary debauched abuse, torture and unacceptable degradation that was perpetrated against sacristy itself; and that of every individual’s basic human civil rights – but more importantly, our God-given right to ‘free will’.

Emerantia Parnall-Gilbert

“Vortex” Book I,  contains the basic premise (in that it deals with the struggle of black Americans trying to gain their civil rights denied them by slavery in the South and the Fugitive Act of 1850 in the North.)
Boston, long before the Civil War began, was the nexus of a social/political struggle against slavery in the USA. For example, ‘Uncle Tom’s Cabin’ by Harriet Beecher Stowe was published there in 1852. After the famous ‘Tea Party’ of 1773 and the Irish immigrations of 1849, it is not surprising that Bostonians of all social stripes were considered anti-establishment. However because of the fractions, an insidious social divide between black and whites living there became apparent.

Shortly before the Civil War, Boston’s black population became socially estranged from the city’s white mainstream. This divide becomes quite evident when the book’s white hero marries a black undertakers daughter, the beautiful Virginia Rowland. Their consequent struggle mirrors the social and racist hypocrisy of pre-civil war Boston not only in the white community but in the black (as portrayed by Rev. Benson and his white counterpart Minister Norland.)
Therefore, in Book one, ‘VORTEX, the conflict over the issue of basic human tights evolves from the visceral (the throwing of slaves overboard) through the subtleties of social hypocrisy. Eventually civil war erupts between two ideologies so diametrically opposed they are willing to die to preserve them.
Carried along on a tidal wave of hate and destruction are the sub-characters…Alan Pinkerton, Lincoln, Marcus, Belle and Virginia. Much like the desperate slaves aboard the slave ship, the Wanderer, they careen helplessly towards the abyss of civil war. Yet, behind the scenes as chaos explodes around them, these characters plot and counter-plot, their actions leading up to an unforgettable conclusion.

Two main characters form the moral pillars of two diametrically opposed societies, namely John Saxton (an enlightened heir to a shipping fortune) and Marcus Brown (Matari), a former slave/sailor and Maasai warrior (Moran) who amongst other black epitomizes the black dilemma in America.
White trying to retain his Maasai moral compass, Marcus is forced to obey the rules of a socially bigoted white majority in order to survive. This ethical miasma results in a conflict not only between him and those he loves but also between the forces of evil as portrayed by the villainous Horatio Garrow and his hapless confederate Harley Blackstone. Because Saxton and Marcus’s morals remain unsullied, their purity of character only serves to make the antagonists appear more evil and depraved.
