About the Author

Clare Mansfield jpeg

We would like to present our Client and Author, Claire Mansfield,  a qualified B.Ed., and her new book entitled “AWAY WITH THE FAIRIES “A Fairy’s Guide to True Love.

Clare has worked as a Primary School Teacher for over a decade. She trained as a Personal & Business Life Coach with the Irish Life Coach Institute. She realized her natural instincts as a healer and went on to become an Integrated Energy Therapist.  Claire hopes her Celtic voice, vision and energy will appeal to a wide audience as she presents her channeled insights in a logical way.  The Author was shown how to energetically remove fear and negativity from her life and how to live her dream life of love, passion and integrity.

On completing this book she met her ‘twin flame’ so she is a living testament to the words and messages presented in her book. The book shows how you too can find true love.   It gives us great pleasure in introducing Claire’s most entertaining read and ‘guide/‘handbook’  entitled AWAY WITH THE FAIRIES “A Fairy’s Guide to True Love”, aimed at all those readers out there, who may be searching or seeking answers/guidance, as  how to find ‘true love’ in their lives and discover a more balanced emotional and ‘lifestyle equilibrium’ to preen more quality time from their daily lives.

Claire Lune is a very complex and resourceful author, and we certainly feel her work has been well researched and has poignantly been based upon her personal life’s experiences, her travels to various international destinations, and learning many new things outside her own ‘comfort zone’ about different cultures.  The author’s very own characteristic restlessness has had a bearing and in her becoming ever more cognizant as a young teenager year ago, feeding a real sense of urgency in wanting to explore all those other universal realms that exist outside the norm of what we generally know and accept as our own familiar ‘terra firma’, and all tangible life that exists upon it.

She has created a most compelling and appealing work of literature, which she has based upon her in-depth knowledge about those sciences she began to take a very serious interest in. Claire began to explore and research deeper into those areas of sciences and belief systems that were pertaining to the metaphysical, astrological and telepathic mediums, fortified further by her own deep-felt sense of connection with nature, her natural and invisible world, and the innate belief systems she grew up with imparted by the family values of her parents. Claire began to record her feelings and private experiences and made notations explaining how the very bearing these diverse branches of the metaphysical and supernatural senses began to have on her person, and how some of these new revelations that came to her began to alter and affect her personal outlook on life.

Her newfound ‘questioning’ about the universe and the science of very creation itself nevertheless, was also met with much apprehension and skepticism during her interaction with those around her.  Her proclamation to friends and family and colleagues that she would write her book ‘Away with the Fairies’ was not received with some skepticism by friends and family. During the course of her newly acquired and freshly adopted philosophies from early on in her life as a young teenager, her knowledge began to blossom and mature, and many of her convictions have as consequence left their mark and impressions also on all those with whom she has come in contact with over course of her adult life in a very positive way; thus behind the inspiration to finally penning down her fascinating thesis  AWAY WITH THE FAIRIES  “A Fairies’ Guide to True Love”.

We hope all our readers out there partial to this progressive genre of literature will afford Clare their support, and may discover some poignant treasures and revelations within the context of the topics dealt with in this book, and which they could maybe apply to your own life in a very positive way.

This fascinating book is now available from the Publisher’s Website and Amazon.com and will also be available in Kindle & Ebook format in 2014.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Michael S. Fields jpegMIKE FIELDS and STAN LEE

Michael S. Fields’ wonderful warm smile radiates, exudes and reflects the very passion and love he has for his writing, and writing it well.  The Author was born and raised in Michigan in 1978.  He wrote many stories since childhood, one of which called “The Armageddon Season” which debuted in a Philadelphia magazine called “Short Stories and Poetry Forum Press”.  It became the magazine’s feature story and received many accolades from readers and critics alike.  The story centered around a group of boys trying to make it home during a violent winter storm as they battle bullies along the way.  Michael comes from a talented family, whose father and Author in his own right, Scott C. Fields is also a very talented and prolific Author of multi-published works.  Michael’s grand-mother instilled that literary prowess in Michael’s own father, and his father  instilled it in him.   So the talent runs through their genes, and is  in their blood.   It is clear that some of us are born to read, and others are simply born to write the stories.

“Spirits of the Darkness”  is Michael S. Fields’ first novel to get published at this time in his life.  The book chronicles the life of Syn and the exploration of life and death.

Other upcoming works by Michael S. Fields are: –

Question: What other works are you currently planning/working on Michael?  I can’t wait to read your next novels.

Michael:  Thank you, Emma!  I’m working on two actually!  It’s hard since busy with work and trying to promote this one.  I’m working on the sequel:  “Ghost of the Medallion”  and also a new novel called “Corporate Hordes”,  which is about the working class and also a love story.  I’m also working on a short story for the book contest called “Beyond Hostile World”.  I hope to have at least one done before the end of the year!  At least with this book out, I can really start working on getting them done and get all the promotions out of the way at the same time!  Thanks again, Emma!  You’re awesome!
Emma:  You are a real flatterer Michael, I wonder where you get that from lol!  But mind you, I can lap that up real fast! 🙂  and I deem it a real privilege to be representing you and your work Michael 🙂

ABOUT DOROTHY KNIGHT

Photo of Dorothy Knight

Hello dear Friends and Colleagues

We would like to introduce another of our prolific Clients and Authors, Dorothy Knight, author of extra-ordinary and robust ‘Mystery Crime Thrillers’ and the inspirational creator of some amazing works fresh out of Africa.

Living in an uncertain world where violence, murder and genocide, and the constant threat of terrorism generated by rebel and tribal warfare continues to be a daily occurrence, our author and former African daily newspaper journalist, has seen and done her share of reporting about these harrowing facts of life in the country of her birth.

Her love for her homeland, South Africa and its many diverse continents and peoples is obvious, and slow and loathe to moving away to another country where she and her family might be able to live in a safer environment, Dorothy Knight continues to hang on tenaciously to the lifestyle she has been accustomed to all her life. She devotes all her time to writing her books at their secluded family farm, away from the bustle of city living. Where she is surrounded by native African bush, and diverse flora and fauna and where her inspiration will never run dry. We are proud to be able to present her new book entitled ‘CANNIBAL MAN’, out now and may be purchased at Damnation Books.com or at Amazon.com, and in shops where all good books are sold.

Not for the faint of heart or those with a weak stomach disposition, “CANNIBAL MAN” may not be your choice of book to read. But if you relish dark mystery crime thrillers with a different stroke such as this psychological horror story is, that offers a satisfying and just end to those who are deserving of due punishment for their murderous deeds, than “CANNIBAL MAN”  is the book for you.

So if you feel besieged by an overwhelming urge of curiosity (the kind that killed the cat) then by all means we invite, no dare you, to buy yourself a copy of “Cannibal Man” and take your chances. A classic graphic horror tale, this book will leave the reader nervously glimpsing over their shoulder, indeed wondering where fiction leaves off, and realism begins.

Below a short introduction of “CANNIBAL MAN”, the first b0ok in Dorothy Knight’s extreme ‘Mystery Crime Thriller’ series  ( without giving away too much of the plot).

Cannibal Man cover

A fourth victim (this time a female) is brutally and horrifically raped and killed in her home. The detectives find a strange substance on the sheets, when they are confronted with what even the most hard-headed cop, would consider as a most extremely graphically horrifying psychotic and beastly attack delivered on the unfortunate victim. The strange substance is later identified as pig faeces. The South African Police Services wake up and assign two top detectives to the case. Lieutenant Timothy Sauer and Captain George Hobbs are two of the old school caliber of policemen. They came from an era before corruption and crime took over the workings of the SAPS.

The two detectives receive dockets that are incomplete. To make matters worse, the Forensic Pathologist who did the autopsies on the first three victims was careless and open to bribes. A new Pathologist is appointed – Dr Mandy Wright. She appears to be as dedicated as the detectives. To make matters worse, the media is on their superior, Superintendent Mike Hansen’s case.

Henry James Harper is an adopted son to a well off pig farmer. Henry grows up in this sick set-up but thinks this is normal. He has an elder brother, also adopted who makes his life a living hell and brutalizes him.

Sauer and Hobbs leave no stone unturned in their attempt to find the killer. They manage to find a partial print, but their killer is not on the system. They find minute amounts of DNA under a fingernail that the killer attempted to flush down the lavatory. A towel they send for DNA analysis ends up being used by an off duty policeman to dry himself. They do find a communal interest, a male prostitute called Jimmy Love. But soon after questioning him, he is found in the gutter with his throat slashed.

We are going to stop here…..please go buy this book either in paperback or as a convenient Kindle download when it is launched and available at Damnation Books and Amazon.com  if you wish to read the rest of this riveting story. You will not regret this purchase.

ABOUT “DEATH AND INNOCENCE” – the second book in Dorothy Knight’s Crime Series which is soon to be launched by Damnation Books!

Death and Innocence cover - Dorothy Knight

“DEATH AND INNOCENCE” Suffer the Little Children Book II in the Dorothy Knight Mystery Crime Thriller series – was again inspired by the author’s personal experiences and acute awareness and exposure to violence of this kind whilst living and working as a journalist in a part of the world amidst insecurity and turmoil from decade to ensuing decade and where today, the white man is no longer wanted or acknowledged as rightful citizens of that country.

Another fine work by the author executed and penned down against a tapestry of profiles in the best of African tradition.  A land forever under siege where violence, massacres, genocide, child molestation and slavery, warfare, and Voodoo cultures prove the norm, and which has been the tradition since the beginning of time.

The book presents as a very insightful and suspenseful read and can be added to, and is part of this Mystery Crime Thriller series.  Dorothy is currently working on the third edition as we speak.

A short introduction to “DEATH AND INNOCENCE” Suffer the Little Children  – Nominated for the Small Press Book Awards – Goodreads

The instruction was simple: Go catch the witch doctor (nyanga) that instructs his clients to rape and kill young virgins in order to cure themselves of HIV.

Inspector Timothy Sauer and Captain George Hobbs again receive a case that seems impossible to solve. Not only do they have to leave the comforts of urban life behind, they now have to dwell in a spiritual world completely unknown to them.  Together they set off into the deep rural areas of South Africa where they meet up with a former colleague of Sauer, Dave Martens, who works with the local Child Protection Unit. Martens introduces them to the dark immorality world of the evil nyangas. Martens suggests they speak to convicted rapists.

The detectives come across a wall of resistance and corruption. The officials at the jail where the notorious rapists are kept are more corrupt than the inmates. Questions are evaded or just not answered and the detectives are constantly told that they are ‘interfering’ in cultural issues. The locals are very superstitious and are completely mistrusting of all white people.

Soon they meet several people who teach them about the cultural issues and guide them. A retired professor, Leon Kruger, who knows the local culture well, introduces them to the only white nyanga, Nomsa. She throws the dolosse (bones) and sees the future. Yet she does not name the nyanga to the detective. Instead she tells them the solution.  Sauer wakes up to find his room filled with smoke. As he reaches the door, a small light starts hovering just below the ceiling. The detectives now know that they are targeted by the witch craft. They move to a safe house outside town but even there they are not out of harm’s way.

As far as they start to unravel the crimes, people die violently. The nyangas are killing off all the evidence. Strange things still happen to the detectives. They find strange gadgets in their room, an owl warns them of danger and weird footprints are left behind. Sauer in convinced that the nyangas want to drive them crazy…

This is about where we stop wetting your appetites, and urge all you brave lovers of true crime thrillers; (boasting strong stomachs, to weather the impact of Dorothy Knight’s suspenseful story telling) bravely, so do purchase your copy the moment this book has been  launched by Damnation Books.com (http://www.damnationbooks.com)

ABOUT SALLY FRANKLIN CHRISTIE INTERVIEWING DOROTHY KNIGHT

We here at the Agency would like to celebrate Sally’s wonderful reporting on Writerly Wednesday’s Author Promotions platform.  We hope you will enjoy the candid interviews she holds with all her authors, and the one she conducted with our  Dorothy Knight, African Author of “Cannibal Man” and soon to be published also by Damnation Books, “Death and Innocence” which is also delivered in the same engaging, compelling, mesmerizing and perhaps somewhat ‘raw’ crime story telling style, which is becoming Dorothy Knight’s trademark.  We wish her all the very best of success in her endeavors to become another recognizable name in the literary industry in the years to come.   Dorothy is working on a 3rd Crime Thriller but with a difference.  She feels that winding a touch of Romance into the plot would not go amiss, and is aiming to surprise and enthrall all her regular readers even further with her diverse talents.

Writerly Wednesday Welcomes Dorothy Knight Posted on October 2, 2013 by Sally

“Writerly Wednesday” Welcomes Dorothy Knight, author of extra-ordinary and robust ‘Mystery Crime Thrillers’ and the inspirational creator of some amazing works fresh out of Africa.

Interview by Sally Franklin Christie

1.   What is your favorite marketing task that has resulted in a sale?

Word of mouth. But that was clearly not enough, despite many of my friends, fb friends and acquaintances buying Cannibal Man. The book is about a serial killer that is tracked by two seasoned policemen. The policemen not only have to deal with the public demanding the killer be caught, they also have to deal with corruption within the police systems and the judicial system. Which leads to an interesting ending.

The world seems to be hungry for stories from Africa – hence my writing. But sadly the publishing industry in South Africa is very small, and I don’t really have the know-how to promote my book. I have, however, recently started exploring other avenues, such as review sites and my agent, an angel called Emerantia Parnell Gilbert, broadcasts me to the world from her web pages. The book is on the violent side, which would be foreign for people living in first world countries, as they do not deal with almost one thousand rapes and eighty murders daily. And those are just some of the more serious crimes.

2.   What do you like about your publisher or why did you decide to Self Publish?

I like Damnation Books as they did most of the hard work e.g. the cover design, the editing, the promotion of the book and the redistribution thereof. Things that I know nothing about despite being in the broadcasting and printing media for decades.

3.   What do you have under your bed?

Fat Bertha! And she takes up all the space. And of course bum fluff and dead spiders. Fat Bertha is my suitcase. She is light blue and weighs about 40 tons and is very old. Luckily she has wheels. And I can fit my entire life into her. One of the original suitcases that came out with a pull-out handle and wheels and side pockets for brick mobile phones. Together, she and I have travelled the world. Seen many places, people and things. Dogs have peed on her, birds have spotted her, and many, many people, including myself, have fallen over her. And of course airport personnel love her – she has been searched by more people than I care to remember.

4.   Are you a plotter or a pantser when you are writing?

Yes, I am a big schemer. I love plotting my stories before I write. But that does not stop strange characters and events jumping into my head at any old time. Generally I plot the story from beginning to the end.

5.   Do you write in a bubble or do you prefer critique groups, writing buddies or other companionship during the process?

I write in an absolute bubble. All has to be quiet. No radios, music or televisions. I never show my work to any one, except my daughter, while I am writing. I believe that too many outside input, being it bad or good, would influence my creativity. It is sacred to me until finished. My daughter has always been brutally honest with me – she would flat out tell me if the day’s writing was crap. And in so many words. Other than that, she is a wonderful child.

6.   When do ideas come to you and how do you capture them?

In the middle on the night when I am supposed to sleep. The ideas just jump into my head and often refuse to budge – I have to write them away. I also pull a great deal of stories from my almost thirty years as a journalist in Africa where I sometimes had to report during serious conflict situations.

7.      What is your favorite word processing program and what other tools do you use, pen, notebooks, white board, index cards, finger on fogged bathroom mirrors?

I use word. Always has. But next to my computer is a pad of paper and a pencil. I jot these ideas down, stick them onto the wall next to me in my study, that way I can use them as a quick reference. I have also been known to write notes on my palm or on my driver’s licence.

December 4, 2013

Knight’s latest book, Death and Innocence, was released this week by Damnation Books.

Q: Based on your career as a Journalist, what prompted you to explore fiction writing?

Fiction writing was always to me just a natural extension of journalism. Before writing an article, I did immense research on my subjects, and often found very interesting tit-bits that unfortunately had to fall by the way-side as newspaper articles seldom exceed 500 words. These fascinating tit-bits had to be told, and as I jotted them down every night, they formed into many different stories in my mind. Of course I added colorful tails, big floppy ears and curly horns. As one of my first editors said to me many, many moons ago: “Never let the facts stand in the way of a good story.”

Q: Do you feel that writing fiction complements your life as a Journalist? Please give details.

I don’t do much journalism any more. I have done it for 27 years and feel at his stage that I have seen, done and written about it all. I started out as a Political Journalist, which was very exciting as I worked for the left wing press that hammered the old Nationalist government. It was great fun trying to outsmart the Security Police at the time, but one gets older and when one has children, one tend to run out of steam sometimes. The last decade or so I did investigative journalism, anything from crime syndicates, gun smuggling, child pornography rings and we even once penetrated a notorious cult and closed it down. I do get asked from time to time to write the odd piece, which I only do if the subject interests me.

Q: Your life has been spent in South Africa, and there are many hardships in that region of the world. What if any positive impacts have you had from a life spent in South Africa?

Like most bright-eyed and bushy-tailed young journalists, I thought I could change the system and expose it all. We couldn’t despite the proverbial pen being mightier than the sword. The system is just too powerful. We could change some things within the system though. We, Frans van der Merwe, one of my mentors, and I, managed to put enough pressure on the ANC government to build schools, fix hospitals and restore clinics and voiced the stories of many people through our articles. Sadly we could not tell everyone’s story, nor could we solve everyone’s hardship. We did what we could to help but a handful in this land of hopelessness.

Q: Is there any censorship where you live that limits or has limited what literature is available to you?

How many pages have you got for this answer? Under the Nationalist government we were severely censored. The Security Police would come into the newspaper offices and literally cut our copy to pieces. Or they would break in and destroy our offices – smash our computers and once even set the office alight. They would terrorize us journalists by cutting our tires, hack all our conversations and wake us up with Alsatian dogs in the early hours of the morning and search our homes. But there were bad things as well. I mainly remember that we used to laugh at this harassment –some male journalists were badly roughed up but the worst that ever happened to me was when a huge policeman slapped me so hard my teeth rattled.

When the ANC government came to power some twenty years ago, all these censorship laws were dropped and things seemed to go well for a while. Then we journalists started hammering the ANC about the increasing crime statistics, the corruption and the mismanagement of public funds. This prompted them to write a Secrecy Bill – which they are currently trying to pass through our parliament, but they are failing to get a two-thirds majority.

There is a huge public outcry against this Bill as it would restrict the journalists immensely in our struggle for Freedom of Press. Journalist would not be able to write anything about the government without the copy being checked by the ANC government before being published. It brings back so many fond (?) memories of being a journalist under the Nationalist government. More information on this can be found on the web pages of the Mail & Guardian (South Africa) newspaper.

Q: If you had to save one book from a library during an apocalypse, which title would it be and why?

Definitely Billy Bryson’s Down Under. This book still makes me laugh out loud. Bryson is hugely funny.

Q: Your writing is very succinct, and at times, brutal. However, that is the nature of the environment the characters live in, and unfortunately, a reality in some parts of the world. What emotional conflicts did you have transitioning the horrors of reality in South Africa into a novel?

I thought that the staccato style writing would fit in well with the crime stories that I write. It is done deliberately as I wanted the impact of my words to be as fast and piercing like a gun shot. And yes, my stories are brutal. Much like life in South Africa. Our crime stats are staggering and increasing; and the government seems unable to stop this wave of transgressions.

About ten days ago a six week old baby girl was raped by her 24-year old uncle. But sadly she is not the only one. As a journalist we dealt with it almost daily. My new novel, Death and Innocence, deals with this subject. I cannot tell all the heart rendering stories I had tried to comprehend, but I can make the world aware of these heinous crimes against little girls. When I write about this, I sometimes have to stop, light a cigarette, take a huge sip of my cold coffee and breathe deeply to compose myself. Some images just don’t want to vacate my memory.

Q: Tell us where readers can find you on the internet or in retail stores.

My books, Cannibal Man and Death and Innocence are both available from Amazon.com, Kalahari.com; Damnation Books and locally from Exclusive Books.

Readers that would like to make contact with me can do so on knight.writer.dorothy@gmail.com or on my blog:

Our Client, and Author Rival Gates

It gives us great pleasure to introduce another of our fine authors Rival Gates, who has written an exciting fantasy Sci-Fi novel titled “Quest for the Red Sapphire” Book I covering around 490 pages, the first of a series of three books in total.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Rival was born in Port Huron, Michigan USA and moved to a suburb of Toronto, ON, Canada at age five.  His father was a technical writer and magazine editor while his mother was a high school teacher.  Always interested in creative writing Rival participated in many contests in grammar school which led to writing his own short stories.  It was at the early age of thirteen that he began on a story, what later became known as the “Quest for the Red Sapphire” by the time he turned age fifteen.   He was obviously born with a natural inclination for self-expression and creativity, and kept consistently as working on this project until he had perfected it.

However, a lull ensued whilst attending Michigan State University, where Rival graduated with a degree in Communication and found that he had a gift and enthusiasm for speaking in public.  With his first ever Computer, the Author dusted off his old story notes and began to revise the work once more.  Not a day had passed by since he had first created this project with a certain enthusiasm, where he did not consider some aspect of its outline.  An entire series was planned and put in order to be written.   Back-stories were formed and the series was ready to produce.  Rival proving to be a perfectionist-driven author, and when he came to us for representation, we wanted to help him and nurture along his obvious desire in becoming a full time writer.  Rival will go far in his career as a teller of great tales, because it is in his blood.

Max Novak, an aging widower has totally withdrawn from society, moved to the North Carolina Mountains and made himself a paradise, totally independent from the power grid; all this after losing his mate in a suspicious accident on the very day he had sold his Lake Burton, Georgia lakeside cabin for one million dollars.

When a representative of the Nantahalla Power Company  is discovered marking a line right through the center of Max’s property with orange plastic tape to make way for a 375 kilowatt power line that will cross right through Max’s land, as well as through his immediate neighbor’s, a full blooded Cherokee Indian named, Chief Whitecloud, who lives with his daughter, Nicole, Max is forced to get involved with his tiny community of Lake Nantnahalla, in order to try, against all odds, to stop the power company.  With the law of eminent domain on their side, the power company becomes a formidable adversary.

This work, albeit in a fiction setting is not far from the reality today in a world of division politcally, greed, racial discrimination and lust for wanton power struggle.  We urge anyone who enjoys a great read which touches upon and brings to mind so many human and autocratic elements, to buy a copy now!

“Duty, Honor, Country: Those three hallowed words reverently dictate what you ought to be, what you can be, what you will be. They are your rallying points: to build courage when courage seems to fail; to regain faith when there seems to be little cause for faith; to create hope when hope becomes forlorn.”    General of the Army, Douglas MacArthur

The book “Duty, Honor, Country: Kill, Capture or do Nothing,” is the account of the most secret Special Operations unit in the United States Military. This is the story of real men who put their lives on the line every day in defense of the United States. The unit, never makes the 6 o’clock news or the newspapers, they operate and their missions are highly classified, every day they carry out missions in complete secrecy. They are only whispered about at the highest levels of the intelligence community in the United States and are never acknowledged publicly.  They were once known as the Intelligence Support Activity and have gone by many names over the course of the last thirty years. Currently this unit is designated the Army Operations Activity.

Commentary:

Ed Schroeder is an author of quality material.  He writes about what he knows, and still remains the basis upon which all great works are created.  To write about what the author knows/researched delivers authenticity and realism to any work, and this book is a ‘must’ read, suitable for general and discerning reading audiences.  It is for readers who appreciate military/historical genres which provides suspense, realism and which may even serve as an eyeopener about those serving men, who lay their lives on the line every day in the course of serving their country dutifully, ensuring that our home shores continue to remain a safe haven from off-shore terrorist threat so prevalent in this our 21st Century.

Our Client and Author, Fritz Blackburn

INTRODUCING FRITZ BLACKBURN It gives us great pleasure to present Fritz’s first book entitled “Chess Parenting”  in a series of parenting books he is planning.

Fritzgirl 2girls           Then……..!    But now all grown up into 2 gorgeous delightful young women!

“CHESS PARENTING”  is a book which was based upon life and written from first hand personal experience.

Publisher: Seaburn Publishing and Distribution Group

Chess Parenting 160

Here is the anti-thesis to ‘Tiger-mom’! ‘Chess-parenting’ proposes a Taoist style of parenting based on real, mutual respect, effective guidance and mutual trust, which includes the development of the parent as much as that of the child. It shows how the ‘generation-gap’ and most other difficulties with teenagers are mostly self-created by the parent and not inventions by the ‘crazy teenager’.

Using chess as a medium to foster character-development in its fundamental structure, this book explains virtues such as courage, self-responsibility, commitment and truthfulness as in need of practising rather than preaching.

It shows the typical mistakes of parents and gives tactical and strategic advice on how to avoid passing on to children what we haven’t worked out ourselves as yet and on what doesn’t work at all in daily practice.

Central to great parenting is to keep your kid on your side, rather than make her/him the receiver of authoritative demand and moral judgement. Instead of ‘Laissez-faire’ and ‘control-all-you-can’ – authoritarianism, the Author  suggest a rather new way and approach to parenting, where parents and kids are a team, where all members are needed and fully respected in the family and where kids are empowered to feel in charge of what happens.

The Taoist-nature of chess develops also emotional and spiritual insights, along with the intellectual! Without a need to feed children religious dogma, this approach cultivates emotional intelligence and ethical fibre while always being grounded in common sense and self-determination.

As a solo-dad, raising two daughters in rural New Zealand as well as traveling, Fritz has never taken the arrogant approach of shovelling his own  ‘superior’ knowledge down their tiny throats! Instead the Author and his girls became a team of fellow-travelers and discoverers, based on mutual respect! Unlike most other parents he never expected them to do what he says rather than what he does and  uses chess very effectively to allow them to figure out for themselves what is true and what illusion and what is actual choice.

Today Fritz is an extremely happy dad with the results he was blessed with, and because of this found parenting a pure joy!!

He  also draws from his own experience in teaching chess to other people and has gained substantial experience into insights of how to open their minds to inner and outer connected realities. As a parenting tool, chess is shown to be formidable enough to make a real difference to the performance of child and parent and to the integrity of family-life! It promotes non-hierarchical, non-authoritarian, but powerful parenting, where the child has a chance to win and to ‘know best’ and to respect herself 0r himself.

Such a style of parenting is unheard-of in modern society, but works well in natural societies, and needs to be recognized as the solution to most of our parenting problems today! Without any force, punishments, imposed limits or yelling Fritz raised his own girls very successfully and easily to be happy, empowered, intellectually acute and spiritually observant young women.

The market for this book consists of all parents who want more for their child than being programmed by parent, society and school! Particularly solo-dads of teenage girls will find chess-parenting an extremely helpful and insightful tool to raise the self-reliant and sane teenager.

Comparing it with ‘Battle Hymn of theTiger-mother’, ‘Chess-parenting’ gives power not to the mom, but to the kid and emphasizes respectful interaction over parental will and convenience.

It has the potential to become quite controversial, as it takes the godlike arrogance out of parenting and suggests that parents too have a lot of growing up to do!

The strength of this book is in its uniqueness of philosophical perspective as well as in its connectedness to all walks of life and its practicality. It suits any parent not convinced that good parenting has been honestly explored and it puts a necessary mirror up to all parents who have become walking rule-books and yelling judicators to their children.

There is no such book out there! There is not even a theory for respectful parenting in our time! Nothing at all that works… But there sure is a market of parents wanting to look into it.  As explained and told to us by Fritz Blackburn, we too are convinced he is on the right path and perhaps his books may open up a whole new school of thought in how to create stronger bonds between parents / solo parents and their brood.

Keep an eye out for more books in this amazing series of parenting books by our most insightful author and teacher in new but natural philosophies o child-rearing which we may have lost the way of in our Western society along with its conventional pressures and social conventions.

SOME INTERESTING FACTS ABOUT OUR AUTHOR

Born January 19th 1955 in Augsburg, Germany, Fritz Studied economics and law during the period from 1976-1984 at Augsburg University.  Produced 10 publications of short stories in various hunting and fishing magazines.   Engaged in explorative International globetrotting to 65 countries before, during and after his time at university.

Discovery of the spiritual path at age 20, was then followed by training with shamans in Mexico and living in tribal communities in various remote places with the natives.  He came to love their simple natural and caring ways of sharing with their immediate families and their extended village neighbours.

Fritz is multi-lingual and speaks 7 languages, and being insatiably curious and on limited budgets, he acquired an easy understanding of tribal cultures and of those essential human characteristics all cultures share. ‘Who am I?’ and ‘Why’ and ‘Where did I come from?’  which became the fundamental questions to be answered.

Tournament chess became the Author’s  main excercise for the logical brain, while for spiritual growth he focused on ancient Chinese techniques.  He conducted and ran a Yoga school on Boracay Island/Philippines for 2 years, but soon discovered taoist techniques were the concepts which led to completely new insights.

Upon leaving Europe for good in 1985 Fritz intended to live his life in a cave on Cebu/Philippines, determined to fully develop potential psychic abilities which he was already aware of since childhood.  His search for enlightenment was thwarted by a girlfriend who had other ideas and reluctantly Fritz ended up in New Zealand in 1986 to settle down to some modicum of domestic bliss.  The union produced a a son from whom he was denied contact, but was later blessed with 2 daughters by a different mother who had abandoned her children after a lengthy custody battle.  Fritz was left to raise his girls alone, while traveling together as a close-knit family through South East Asia on a shoestring budget, and visited remote places and location which proved to be well off the trodden path.

During these extended periods spent in the company of tribal communities Fritz began comparing tribal ways of raising children with Western ideas, and as consequence developed an entirely new approach to parenting, based not on indoctrination, but on respect and self-responsibility, which worked so much better he realized. Parenting was pure joy for Fritz, and his lovely daughters, the girls, were soon more competent than most adults he knew.

After years of developing properties in NZ, building houses and planting forests, the Author, had lost all his  assets in the drawn out custody war and was left with no material or financial means from which to draw a living.  He also worked as a healer in the Bay of Islands, and taught chess to children and began writing New Physics theory based on visionary insight.

Increasingly Fritz was drawn to further research the potential of the human mind, actively engaging in cultural comparisons and experiments.  He also acquired expertise in taoist techniques to a point where he found he could use various energies for mind development, psychic ability and visionary insight.

Raising his children seemed to raise Fritzh to an even higher consciousness, which led to ever new understanding and proving highly successful.  The three of them regarded each other as reliable travel partners and respected each others’ personality traits.  The girls learned to communicate well in any given culture, acquired many life-skills and became adept at chess, martial arts and the guitar as well as singing.

Today they still travel together to remote tribal places in the Philippines, where they study ways of parenting, of social interaction and interaction with nature.

Until January 2013  Fritz was resided on Negros Island with his son, now a psychologist, diving into the realities of street children, orphans, prostitutes and tribals whose forest homes are under severe threat from logging.  They investigated the damage done by the catholic church, which dominates all education and  explore the changes in diet for people who move from the mountains into the city, including the disadvantage to having access to natural medicines and the knowledge thereof, which these people no longer had access to in the modern city environment.

Future books the Author  intends to write will cover the topics of parenting, mind and soul development and the role of culture within our attempt to reach the human potential.  We believe Fritz  in actuality may be a dying breed of man, who may possess the strength, resilience and fortitude to revive our sensibilities to the more primeval ways of feeling, thinking and being through his books; as our modern world moves forward and onward into an ever spiralling and more intensely disassociated technologically advanced age.   Which seems to have the ability to destroy rather than build up and enhance the way the tribal cultures of the globe’s remotest destinations still  live and exist.  Where the natural state of ‘being at one with nature and the elements’  is becoming increasingly more inaccessible to many of these cultures.  Many  communities living remotely, are now gradually being ripped from their natural, simpler and healthier lifestyles which the modern white man has already lost touch with, both spiritually, psychologically, physically and socially. Proving very hard for many of these people whilst attempting to make that transition from living in unison with their natural elements, and what is now referred to as that state of socalled  ‘progress’  in the wider world and cities.  Many are becoming displaced and are  being swept up and swallowed up by the masses and modern way of life to their culture’s detriment;  whilst trying to make these adjustments to new and alien white man’s ways.

We look eagerly forward to reading many more of Fritz’s works planned for  the not too distant future.   Currently the Author is working on Book 2 in the Parenting series, the title of which still eludes us for the time being.  Keep on the lookout for more news over the ensuing months on this page.

Our Client, and Author M. P. Ward

It gives us great pleasure to introduce another of our very talented authors M. P Ward, for his soon to be released book this time in Paper back version titled “SAM AND THE SEAWITCH” Book 1 of a series of a Trilogy, and maybe a 4th to be added, their content consisting of dark and mysterious, and psychologically gripping tales about a boy who lives in a Cornish seaside town. It contains a background of myth and legend, within the Cornish setting, which makes Sam’s story highly atmospheric. By all accounts its the stuff that the best movies are made of, and definitely we want more of them that run along the lines of this genre too, and maybe there is room for us to explore that possibility for our author also.

ABOUT THE BOOK

Former Publisher:    http://museituppublishing.com/    (Destined for a Reprint with Lang Book Publishing
“SAM AND THE SEAWITCH” Book 1 is a wonderfully, compelling and bewitching tale written in the best of Cornish tradition. The work is the first of several books in this series aimed at the Young Adult audiences as well as Adults with a real sense of adventure and fun.

Sam and the Seawitch cover Mike Ward.pdf_page_1

AUTHOR BIOGRAPHY – M. P. Ward

The Author considers himself a part-time writer and full-time father. He lives in Warrington, England with his lovely wife, Karen, and three children, Sam, Louise, and Eleanor.

After graduating with a BA (hons) in Primary Education with qualified Teacher’s Status from Edge hill University class of ‘2007, Mike quickly found work with children, working for Warrington Borough Council’s Children’s Services, and has been there ever since.

Whilst studying at night school prior to University, he told us that his tutor recognized his ability to write and suggested he write a compendium of horror stories. He did and achieved publication in 2007 with a short story in a horror anthology, which gave the confidence and enthusiasm to go on to writing books. The Author harbors a great love for Cornwall and spends as much time as possible there. It was at the time he was in Looe Bay, Cornwall, which gave him the inspiration to creat a series of books starting with “Sam and the Sea Witch”.   Lamorna Cove has the house built on the slate hillside overlooking the cove just like the one in his story. When the author first saw it, it looked grey and unwelcoming and the row of cottages were also there. All M. P. Ward’s books are about children with problems to overcome in fantastic and sometimes harrowing situations, but aims for a happy ending and outcome for his novels.

He has now also completed another novel in the series titled “The Beast of Bodmin Moor” book 2, and a third book is nearing completion.  Other books M. P. Ward has written are “The Claw and The Eternal Flame”, which are of the same genre and also carry a message. The boy who thought he could fly is an illustrated poem, and “The Odd Sock”, “The Girl Who lost her Tooth” and “The Lion and the Bee” are stories he wrote with added contributions by his then ten-year-old-daughter and were aimed at primary children with educational and moral themes.

Our Author has a big passion for flight. He is enamored by anything that flies and confessed that he would love to one day build his own flying machine. But for now, cloud jumping in his little Microlight aircraft keeps him happy and sane. He quoted Leonardo Da Vinci, who once said, “Once you have tasted flight, you will walk the earth with your eyes turned forever skyward, for there you have been, and there you will long to return.”  What wonderful sentiments and how true these ring for many of us who area fascinated and drawn to the skies. Were we born to fly in another time and space perhaps? Might this strong urge most of us are bewitched by been indelibly imprinted upon our psyches since the beginning of time; to share the realms where angels dwell? LOL!

People who have read M. P. Ward’s work and know who he is, urge him to pen down his flying experiences and turn them into grand adventures of which we could all partake and share his joys within the recesses of our impressionable minds, simply by purchasing every book our Author is going to produce over the coming years.

So Keep your eyes peeled on this talented author, because he promised us that one day into the not so distant future, he shall.

M. P. Ward’s new book soon to be released now in paper back entitled “SAM AND THE SEAWITCH” Book 1 is a wonderful, compelling and bewitching tale which was written in the best of traditional Cornish tradition. The work is the first of several books in this series aimed at the Young Adult audience/readers.

UPDATE ON OTHER ACTIVITIES AND PROMOTIONS

On July 9, 2013, Author M. P. Ward ran two sessions, one in the morning and one in the afternoon, with pupils at Lymm High School, Lymm, not far from Warrington.   It was found to be both very interesting and hopefully inspiring for the students. The Author had his “Sam and The Sea Witch” banner up, also and photos were taken at the end of each session by the school. They told me they will be in the school monthly magazine and they will send them to the local paper with a few lines. It will be positive for the school and for the book. Lots of people were asking where they can buy it.

All of M. P. Ward’s books planned in this Young Adult / General, will reflect that magical old fashioned element, which is sometimes missing in so many modern day fantasy editions. The authenticity and realism of the Author’s books bring back a taste of the romance linked to the Cornish region’s elegance and magic which is able to conjure up visions of the wild Cornish coastline with its rich and colorful history of sea-faring pirate ships and treasure chests in secret hidings places within its coast Cave system of , and Mermaids…but the cute kind of course.

As soon as we have a release date for “Sam and the Beast of Bodmin Moor”  Book II, we will advertise the news immediately. When all sequels are completed we will be presenting the books for an evaluation in view of an adaptation to a Film series, and hopefully we will see a successful outcome to this venture.

Another exciting non-fiction work this time,  M. P. Ward is working on still is a book about Microlights complete with videos and photos of the author’s personal experiences and utter joys experienced,  flying one over the green fields of his hometown at Warrington.  After all, we only live the once…so why not experience all the most ethereal, if not esotheric joys of the human senses… and leave no ‘bird unturned’, so too speak! Lol!

M. P. Ward is an avid and driven  writer, an artist, a garment printer, a qualified teacher, a husband, and father of three lovely children.  He was born and live in the North West of England, and the author graduated with a BA (hons) in Primary Education with qualified Teacher’s Status in 2007.

He has  always had a fascination for writing and has written stories all of his  life as far back as he can recall. However, it was his night school English tutor who recognised the potential and magic writing talent in M. P. Ward, who then  suggested the author pursue writing  horror stories.

Cornwall is where M. P. Ward’s creative juices began to flow and where he was inspired with the  idea to create the  Sam and The Sea Witch trilogy, and was to be the first book in the series.   All the author’s books are about children in fantastic, and sometimes, harrowing situations.  The magic in the words conveyed as they spilled off the quill onto paper was clearly inspired by the surroundings of the wild Cornish Coast in which the author found himself living and integrated into, the breezy  ambience of which is also clearly tangible within the pages of the books.

Some of the other books M. P. Ward  has written include Sam and the Beast of Bodmin Moor,  Sam to the Ends of the Earth – The Seawith, The Claw, and The Eternal Flame. They are all the same genre, and the author hopes each carries a message that will speak to the sentiments and the hearts of young readership.

ABOUT – SAM TO THE ENDS OF THE EARTH – “THE SEAWITCH ” Book 3.

sam-to-the-ends-of-the-earth-book-3

Sixteen years old, Jenny, is struggling with the loss of her friend, Sam. On the day he was kidnapped, by the most horrible sea witch ever imaginable, she vowed to find him. ‘I’ll travel to the ends of the Earth, Sam, if needs be. Where ever she takes you, I will follow.’

It’s a promise that weighs heavily on her heart. She has no way of getting to him.  Go with Jenny on her journey of discovery. She has many obstacles to overcome and things go from bad to worse. In her search for Sam, Jenny finds another big problem. The sea witch is mustering a plan to destroy Cornwall.

How will Jenny ever be able to save the boy she loves, when the most horrible sea witch has taken him to the bottomless pit in the bay? And how will she save Cornwall.  Johnny, Sam’s best friend is doing everything he can to help, but he finds himself falling in love with her and Jenny begins to have feelings for him. An emotional triangle ensues, but who will she chose and will any of it really matter when the sea witch is about to destroy Cornwall? There isn’t much time. Jenny needs to find Sam and save Cornwall, but how?

Sam to the Ends of the Earth is a fantastical adventure that recounts real places, and historical facts, based around the old tin and copper mines on Caradon Hill. St. Cleer was known as Hell up by Liskeard. It was a town that grew dramatically with the rise of the mining industry, and fell just as quickly after the mines closed. What was left attracted the worst kind of evil. It remained below the surface, unknown to the rest of the world, until now.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

It gives us great pleasure in presenting our client William Hinson, author of a most fascinating book titled “Discovering Ancient Giants”. Available on Amazon.com and shortly listed at Barnes & Noble. To be released in paperback and available from all good book retailers in your area.

“DISCOVERING ANCIENT GIANTS”

Discovering Ancient Giants Cover

Publisher:Black Books Plus (Seaburn Publishing & Distribution Group).

William Ashley Hinson was born in Plymouth, North Carolina and grew up in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia and the Piedmont area of North Carolina. He has lived in the Murrells Inlet area of South Carolina since 2004 with his wife and three children. He has only recently moved to Charleston, South Carolina where he is supporting his oldest son as he attends the College of Charleston. William received my Bachelor’s Degree from High Point University, and has taught history in the public schools for ten years. He has published numerous family history books over the years.

Discovering Ancient Giants is a closer examination of the evidence for the existence of ancient giants in our remote past. The author has put together ten years of research in the subject of ancient giants in one really exciting book. Hard evidence of ancient human giants has never supported this theory. Now, the amount of evidence is pointing to the realization that human giants did in an earlier time exist. This book is a non- fictional approach to this taboo subject. This book is a great source of knowledge of evidence supporting the existence of human giants in our past history.

Is there any evidence that human giants existed in our remote past?
Modern day archaeology and anthropology have nearly sealed the door on our imaginations, broadly interpreting the North American past as devoid of anything unusual in the way of great cultures characterized by a people of unusual demeanor.

The great interloper of ancient burial grounds, the nineteenth century Smithsonian Institution, created a one-way portal, through which uncounted bones have been placed. This door and the contents of its vault are virtually sealed off to any but government officials. Among these bones may lay answers not even sought by these officials concerning the deep past.

The first hint I had about the possible existence of an actual race of tall, strong, and intellectually sophisticated people, was in researching old township and county records. Many of these were quoting from old diaries and letters that were combined in the 1800’s from diaries going back to the 1700s. The title pages of the early county and pioneer history books often included phrases like “carefully written and compiled” and “lest we forget.”

Sometime before archaeology came to subscribe the general public to its view of prehistory: generations prior to Darwin’s troublesome theory, the pioneers thought that some of the earthworks were as ancient as could be concurrent with human habitation in America. Some among the early settlers exercised their pens assured that the earthworks were not built by the direct ancestry of the native people living in the historical period, but rather were constructed in a more remote era encompassing a different social order. They compared the “Mound Builders,” with the “Indians,” clearly discerning the former as
belonging to an earlier time, possessing a different fate or destiny from the latter.

Evidence for the occupation of this country before the appearance of the red man is to be found in many states throughout this country, as well as throughout the world. In removing the gravel bluffs, which are numerous and deep, for the construction and repair of roads, and in excavating cellars, hundreds of human skeletons, some of them of giant form, have been found. A female citizen of Marion County estimates that there were about as many human skeletons in the Knolls of Marion County, Ohio as there are white inhabitants at present! (The History of Marion County, Ohio, compiled from past accounts, published in 1883).

Amazing finds were also made in California about 1810 and in Montana in 1924. One was that of a six-toed giant, the other was the skull of a man found 130 feet deep in a lava-covered mine. A human molar embedded in an Eocen coal measure was found in November 1926 in No. 3 Eagle Coal Mine at Bear-creek, Montana, and in strata anywhere between thirty and seventy-five million years old. An amazing skull—of a giant man with double rows of teeth all and massive jaws was found on Santa Rosa Island in the Santa Barbara Channel, California. It has a singular tie-in with the statement in the old Babylonian Talmud, called the Berakthoth, that the giants before the Great Deludge had double rows of teeth!

Many of these discoveries were made early in the nineteenth centuryand in one case where a giant man’s skeleton was exhumed by soldiers at Lampock Rancho, California, the Roman Catholic padre ordered the skeleton to be reburied because the local folk swore it was the skeleton of a god.

These remains were often discovered accompanied by cemented gravel six feet thick lying under volcanic ash—the sign of an ancient cataclysm—ancient metal skillets, beautifully made plummets of syenite, strange inscriptions on ancient artifacts, sea shells lined on the inside with gold and worked with unknown inscriptions, carved blocks of porphyry engraved with hieroglyphs, hieroglyphs on hard rocks covered with iron scale, queer slate tubes and cylinders, and well-made pestles and mortars. All of these, of course, are evidence of ancient civilizations.

In 1947, a newspaper account of someone finding thirty-two caves with remains of what appeared to be 8 to 9 ft. tall giant human skeletons. These caves bordered Arizona, California and Nevada. The giant skeletons were still wearing what appeared to be skins from some type of animal. The clothes resembled that of pre-historic times. This find was first discovered years earlier by a man who then reported the find to the Smithsonian. The remains were stolen after that conversation and a cover up seemed evident.

The Smithsonian was also named for other cover-ups through the years when others reported their own findings. Was it possible that these findings were scooped up by the Smithsonian or did they report the findings to another organization that wanted to keep this information secret? Were there giant people walking the earth many years ago? If so, what made them so big? Why did the giant population disappear from the earth? Why are the accounts of giant people kept relatively quiet? Why is there no word from anyone about the possibly of giant people that once may have walked the earth?

Mr Hinson has demonstrated throughout this book a masterly and in depth understanding of the subject. Not only are there numerous authenticated eyewitness and newspaper excerpts painstakingly researched from all around the world, but a wealth of fascinating pictorial evidence that will keep readers coming back to this book time and time again. Anyone who still stubbornly clings to the naive belief that modern humanity was only on this earth for less than 10,000 years will have their root beliefs shaken to the core. Shame on the Smithsonian Institute and other such places for denying the world the truth! I for one now view many of the old fairy tales about giants and ogres with a whole new respect, as it is now all too apparent that such stories were based on ancient fact. It is also worthy of note that no matter in what culture giant stories appear around the world, they are almost always vicious, cannibalistic bully boys. This certainly gives credence to their mention in the Koran, the Talmud and the Bible, not to mention numerous Asian/North American tales as well of the giant ‘scourge’ that once plagued the earth and the Great Flood God sent that severely curtailed their number. As Mr Hinson also points out in his work, there have been many well documented examples of giant creatures in the past, whose much smaller descendants are still among us today. Why, therefore, is it unrealistic to assume that at some time humans were also at least twice the size of modern man?

This book is really awesome! I’ve always been curious about giants and the author did a great job at collecting a variety of evidence that ancient giants did exist! I recommend this to anyone that ever wondered about the origins and evidence that giants used to be among us.
