• CHASING DREAMS TO CHINA “SUCCESSOR”
Publisher: Seaburn Publishing (www.seaburnbooks.com)
Our Client, and Author Robert Jay Arnold is the original ‘Karate Kid’, whose life story provided the basic background fabric for the latest Movie production of the “Karate Kid” starring Jackie Chan and Jaden Smith, then the 10-year-old very talented son of Actor ‘extraordinaire’ and film producer in his own right, Will Smith.
Robert Jay Arnold is a young black male who spends his youth in a harsh racial climate. For his protection his father starts him and his two brothers into the martial arts at the age of 4. Training becomes a part of his daily life and it blends with the way he perceives and resolves all situations. When he moves away from the dangerous environment he uses his training to help him understand and overcome the battle of following his dreams. Robert has been practicing martial arts for over 28 years. He studied Chinese Language at Western Washington University and spent almost a decade in Taipei, Taiwan training, teaching and translating. He lives and trains in Pullman, WA.
This is a ‘must read’ book for all young aspiring and budding Martial Arts adherents/devotees. This is a book about a life long journey of self applied and cultivated ‘disciplines’ to reach the ultimate goals of achievement and levels of excellence and perfection.
This is a wonderful, and sometimes heart-rending account of a young man, who was brought up by a supportive but highly disciplined father who pushed his sons to the limit, in order to excel and ‘achieve’ in life and be the very best that they can be in their chosen direction of the Martial Arts’ field. Below are some photos of Robert the ‘boy’, and his two other brothers, and the ‘man’ Robert Jay is today.
